Crime Branch takes up investigations, news from Kerala, crime news

Pathanamthitta, The Crime Branch is expected to hand over the probe in relation to the seizure fake notes and printing-related objects from a rented section of a house with two stories in Adoor. Anas, who is a Pathanapuram native, remains at large.

Anas and his family lived in the house for over two months. They were never seen again and their family rented an apartment that was not visible to them. Anas was not available for comment.

According to some reports, the individual opened up the part for cleaning and gave it to another tenant. The fake checks and other printing-related objects were discovered abandoned by the person. The matter was reported to police.

The authorities seized four bags of used dye bottles, printing equipment, and fake currency in the denominations Rs 100 and Rs 500. They also confiscated large paper copies of Rs 2000 and Rs 2000. The face value was Rs 2.5 lakh.

Although police could trace Anas via mobile phone activity and location of towers, they were not able to locate him. He reportedly fled the scene. He is now in an off-line state.

The property owner said Anas presented himself to him as someone who was involved in book printing for schools. Police are also investigating whether Anas is involved in fake Rs 10,000 notes seized at Pathanapuram bank.
