The Federal Authorities has introduced the launch of a portal for the Startup Assist and Engagement Portal.
The portal, which is a key requirement of the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act, is supposed to drive the identification and aggregation of startups within the nation.
The Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economic system, Dr Bosun Tijani, disclosed this on X, Tuesday evening.
He tweeted, “We’re happy to announce the launch of the Startup Assist and Engagement Portal, https://startup.gov.ng/, a key requirement for the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act. The startup portal will drive the identification and aggregation of Nigerian startups, enterprise capital firms, hubs, and innovation centres to facilitate engagement and help for ecosystem gamers.”
He highlighted that the launch of the portal will enable the federal government to provoke the method of establishing startup consultative boards to pick representatives to the Nationwide Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship, to facilitate discourse and consensus amongst ecosystem gamers.
Tijani added, “We invite all Nigerian startup enterprise capital firms, hubs, and innovation centres to register on the portal https://startup.gov.ng/ and look ahead to working with all trade stakeholders to make sure that we absolutely implement the Startup Act for the advantage of our innovation ecosystem. This growth is coming a yr after the Startup Act was signed into legislation by the previous President, Muhammadu Buhari.
