Marfa Texas opens the World’s First 3D printed Hotel next year

Marfa Texas, Texas will soon be more futuristic.

In partnership with ICON (a startup already in a NASA contract to construct the first accommodation and dwellings on Mars, the moon and other planets), Liz Lambert, a hotelier, just announced that she will be rebuilding El Cosmico, the glamping site, using 3D printing technology.

El Cosmico, currently occupying a 21-acre area, will be rebuilt to include large-scale 3D printing “Sunday Homes” as well as structures, including vaults and domes.

Lambert stated in a statement that collaborating with ICON and BIG will allow me to realize this dream. “We also get to use this amazing 3D printing technology, which marries the old principles of building from raw earth with modern technology that is more efficient, sustainable, and fast than traditional construction.” It’s not just about the beauty, but also the innovativeness and creativity of the different types of structures that can be built.

Marfa’s desert landscape will be combined with cutting-edge technology from cosmic organisations to create the new hotel. This space, with its modern organic curves and domes will help El Cosmico become a sustainable and design-focused location.

El Cosmico will open its doors in 2024 with three, four, and two-bedroom houses. In summer 2023, reservations will open for this 3D-printed architectural marvel.

Register on the website of El Cosmico to receive updates about when reservations are open. You can also reserve your El Cosmico spot once they have opened.
