Florida business owners call Shop Small Saturday more important this year than ever

Nov. November 26 marked Small Business Saturday. This is an opportunity to support and celebrate small businesses.Demanuel stated that the event was 17% more successful than last year. Jan Russell, who works for Sweet’s Jewelers, says the same thing. Russell explained that Sweet’s Jewelers has been in business since 1926. It was just like old times.Many local businesses look forward to Small Business Saturday. Beryl Muise of Notions and Potions said that business had increased by 10%. Fort Pierce business owners found Small Business Saturday a positive day.

Nov. 26 was Small Business Saturday. It’s a day for celebrating small businesses and supporting them.

Main Street Fort Pierce officials began preparations for the event in September.

The organizers spread the word and ordered paraphernalia, as well as gift cards to give away the prizes.

Chic and Shore Things owner Becky Demanuel said that it was an incredible day.

Demanuel stated that sales were almost 17% higher this year than the previous year. It’s my second busiest day of the year in terms of sales. This is great news for downtown.

Russell stated that “Downtown is busy.” Russell said, “It was the same as in the past.”

Small Business Saturday is something that many local business owners are looking forward to.

Beryl Muise is the owner of Notions and Potions. She said her business was growing by about 10%.

Also, she said that her Black Friday figures were a surprise to her.

Muise stated that Black Friday saw an increase in sales of almost 40% compared to last year. “I believe that more people are willing to shop small, and this proves it.”
