Allan Gray Makers StartUp Academy This is an 8-month free program that supports aspiring entrepreneurs in the Electrical and Plumbing trades. The program provides support and business training to entrepreneurs in order for them to launch their own businesses. This programme is full-time, in-person and will begin on the 15th May 2023. Allan Gray Makers finances the StartUp Academy. This means that all programme costs are covered, including a basic living allowance and all you’re expected to contribute is your commitment, your time and your energy!
Minimum requirements
If you’re:
- Age: 18-35
- You must be either a South African citizen, or have a permanent resident status.
- You must have successfully completed an appropriate learning program in either the Electrical or Plumbing Trades.
- You must be able to pass a trade exam (a certificate of trade testing is an advantage).
- Johannesburg, South Africa
- Industry: Plumbing & Electrical.
- Goals: To start their own company.
Programme content includes:
1. Entrepreneurial mindset, New Venture Creation Training, Sales and Marketing, Finance Management, Marketing, and Branding.
2. Chances to network and work with others businesses.
3. You have access to personal mentorship, business shadowing, industry-expert coaches, and business advising.
4. With a strong focus on the first sale, you can gain access to all markets
5. Access to Office Space and basic resources
6. Funding to help you start your company and write your Trade Test
7. All graduates have the opportunity to receive support for their entire lives.
