Tampa company to produce first 3-D home

TAMPA FL (Tampa Bay Now), A Tampa-based company is working with 3D printers to help solve the Tampa Bay Area housing crisis.

Already on the market, the first house has been listed and will be constructed next year.

Matt Gibson, Click, Print, Home CEO, said, “In the early 2021, housing market had such many buyers, and no housing inventory.”

Gibson was a former full-time real estate agent. Click, Print, Home, which is a concrete 3D printer company, now belongs to Gibson.

Gibson said, “If i can’t find some housing inventory to buy, then I’m going have to look for something else.”

Click, Print, and Home was born.

Gibson stated, “We’re getting ready for printing our first South Tampa house.”

He claims that the company’s initial home will be printed in 2023. His goal is to alleviate the Tampa Bay Area housing crisis.

Gibson said, “We will have the ability to complete houses quickly. I would guess in about a few months, maybe two months.”

Candis Carmichael of Tampa, said that “we are at the edge of doing something incredible for our community.”

Experts believe these 3D printed homes could help those who struggle to find affordable places to live.

Prices for the home are $599,000.

Candis Carmichael, a realtor, believes these homes must be affordable to all people, not just those who are wealthy.

Carmichael stated, “If people cannot afford it it doesn’t do any good. That’s the kind of balance that must be reached.”

Gibson claims that after some time, the cost of 3D-printed homes will drop. Carmichael and Gibson both believe there may be other advantages if they can print more homes.

There is less material waste. There is an estimated $10,000 saving in material waste. Carmichael stated that you can reduce the production time.

Gibson said, “We’re going to be in a position to create more jobs. More high-tech jobs. Robot operators. Assistant printer managers.”
